NJSSPA The New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants (NJSSPA), represents the over 1,300 physician assistants in all specialties and practice settings within the State of New Jersey. It is our objective is to continue promoting communication between our members throughout the state via this website and to keep them up to date on important information concerning PAs in New Jersey! Founded in 1977, the NJSSPA has experienced tremendous growth in the Garden State. In 1992, PAs were finally granted licensure to practice in the state. By 1997, legislation was passed to allow PAs prescriptive privileges. These legislations were key in enabling New Jersey PAs to provide the highest quality care to the people of New Jersey. We have made great strides in the medical industry, are proud of our history and confident of our future. The State has issued new guidelines for prescription pads which will go into effect on October 1. Keep an eye out for the newsletter for details.
