PA Shadowing Program

At this time, NJSSPA is unfortunately unable to accommodate requests for shadowing placement

Due to heightened concerns for facility security and patient privacy, many hospitals and other healthcare facilities which formerly provided shadowing experiences no longer do so. We understand that many PA programs require PA shadowing experience. If you are applying to such a program, please contact them for advice in securing a shadowing site.

If you are a practicing PA, please consider providing shadowing experiences. If you are able to do so or would like further information, please complete the form at the bottom of this page. Your help is needed.

Not a NJ resident?

If you are interested in shadowing a PA, try contacting a local PA program for advice. They might have alumni who have indicated a willingness to have students shadow. Your local state physician assistant society might also be able to provide assistance in locating a shadowing experience. A list of all state societies can be found on the website of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
