Mission

To establish and uphold charity, philanthropy and higher learning
that support advances in health care for the citizens of New Jersey.

About the Foundation

The New Jersey Physician Assistant Foundation is the charitable arm of the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants. Our objective is to inspire philanthropic support from physician assistants as well as from their employers, corporations and the general public. With this as a framework, we can support advances in healthcare that are driven by physician assistants and that support the PA profession. Since its inception in 1999, the Foundation has been busy fulfilling its mission through a variety of programs.

Mary Herc, senior Physician Assistant student at Seton Hall University, is the 2016 recipient of the New Jersey State Society of Physician's Assistants (NJSSPA) Scholarship.  The Scholarship Committee found her application to be "exemplary" and showed her passion to become a Physician's Assistant through her work on the medical mission fields of the Dominican Republic and Honduras as well as local volunteer efforts in healthcare in Dover, NJ and Philadelphia, PA.  The scholarship was  awarded during National Physician Assistant Week (October 6-12th.), during the Awards Dinner held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Café Picasso, Somerville, NJ.  NJSSPA represents members of the physician assistant profession in New Jersey, whose vision is to be recognized and respected by the healthcare community and the public as the prominent physician assistant state organization. NJSSPA is dedicated to promoting education, advocacy and partnership to achieve quality, cost-effective healthcare.
